Every year, the celebration of Thanksgiving ushers in the holiday season in the United States. And there is no other place that stages the beginning of this period with more style than New York City. The shop windows of the Big Apple are embellished with garlands and Christmas motifs, while the entire city is filled with lights that adorn its streets and illuminate some of the most popular Christmas trees in the world.

Coinciding with this long-awaited start of the holiday season in the city, Porcelanosa installed a gift of impressive dimensions in Madison Square Park, surprising passersby strolling down Fifth Avenue to window-shop and do their first Christmas shopping.
Right in front of the Porcelanosa store on Manhattan’s golden mile, between the Empire State Building and the iconic Flatiron Building, a giant cubicle made of the compact mineral Krion® simulated the wrapping of a gift box crowned with a large golden bow.

Attracted by their curiosity, visitors went inside to discover a cozy living room created with Porcelanosa’s ceramic floor and wall tiles and L’Antic Colonial’s natural materials; and furnished with the Living furniture collection by Gamadecor.
Visitors to the pop-up showroom were immersed in an idyllic space in which to share the most treasured moments of this special time of the year with their loved ones, enjoying unique experiences around the most magical time of the year.
Sheltered by the warmth of the fireplace and in an atmosphere that stood in such contrast with the chill outside, all participants were able to enjoy a traditional Valencian cup of hot chocolate. Porcelanosa and Chocolates Valor, which, in addition to their place of origin, share a long tradition and care for the product, joined forces to offer this memorable moment for the palate and the memory of all participants.

But the experience did not end with the outdoor installation. In its Fifth Avenue showroom, Porcelanosa organized a series of workshops around Christmas with a special connection to its products.
During the days of the initiative, between November 29th and December 2nd, origami workshops were organized by the studio Anaquiños de papel, using the Skins wallpaper collection by L’Antic Colonial.
Attendees were also able to make their own scented candles with the essence of Porcelanosa, characteristic of the brand’s showrooms, guided by the design studio Eleven People. They also designed coasters decorated with Christmas motifs, which they painted on Porcelanosa ceramic pieces together with the Asturian watercolorist Catalina Rodríguez.

In short, Porcelanosa’s preview of Christmas on New York’s Fifth Avenue offered visitors an immersive experience by fusing the design of its products with unforgettable moments steeped in the holiday spirit.
