Porcelanosa’s renovated flagship store in New York has been redesigned to maximize the display area. This expansion has been made possible following the relocation of the offices to the adjoining building, which was acquired by the firm in 2018 to house the administrative areas.
Among the most notable changes is the transformation of the 5th floor. A space of 137 m2 that was previously used for offices and that after the renovation has been converted into an elegant, inspirational apartment, with realistic and sophisticated solutions. The proposal includes a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom, three bathrooms, a dining room and a living room with fireplace.
On an upper level, the sixth floor now houses a new ceramoteca with spaces for professionals and product samples in an original and accessible layout. A fully equipped collaborative work area where the firm’s logo is displayed on a vertical garden.
Other levels that have also seen intervention include the main entrance, where a new front panel reinforces the brand’s identity; the basement, which now includes a Smart Kitchen; the fourth floor, which features a mini XTONE slab gallery designed to highlight the versatility and elegance of these surfaces; and the seventh floor, remodeled to showcase bathroom solutions, including the most up-to-date bathtubs and sinks.

The Commodore Criterion building, once renovated by Norman Foster, has been home to Porcelanosa in Manhattan since its opening in 2015. With eight floors, including a mezzanine and a rooftop, the space has been remodeled again to adapt its more than 1,200 m2 to a fully commercial use.
These new functions are possible following PORCELANOSA Grupo’s acquisition of the adjoining property. With 980 m2 distributed over six floors, 204 Fifth Avenue now houses the Porcelanosa Manhattan offices, freeing up more space at the main headquarters. A change that has been carried out by the prestigious CetraRuddy studio.
With the addition of both buildings, Porcelanosa now has more than 2,000 m² dedicated to design and innovation in the heart of Manhattan.
As part of the celebrations planned for the reopening, Porcelanosa organized an art exhibition under the concept “Earthcrafted Design”. The renovated showroom was temporarily converted into an art gallery where a notable representation of Spanish authors based in the United States highlighted the value of natural materials and craftsmanship.
The proposal made by the sculptor Jorge Palacios, who exhibited four sculptures made with Krion®, PORCELANOSA Grupo’s solid surface, stood out. In addition, the visual artist Vanesa Álvarez Díaz, the sculptor and ceramist Antonio Díaz, the Basque graphic artist Amaia Gómez Marzabal, the painter José Moñú from Zaragoza and the Galician artist Mar Ramon Soriano provided a contemporary vision deeply connected with the talent and the rich artistic tradition of Spain. They were joined by international proposals by Mexican interdisciplinary artist Erika Harrsch, Colombian-born photographer Ximena Hoyos, Greek artist Xanthippe Tsalimi and French painter Emmanuel Werthenschlag.
The United States is one of the most important markets for Porcelanosa. The company has had a consolidated presence in the country for 35 years and currently has 35 official showrooms, in addition to three other stores in Canada, supported by a network of distributors throughout the country. In the last year, Porcelanosa has opened new stores in cities such as Atlanta (GA), Houston (TX), Charlotte (NC), Scottsdale (AZ) and Austin (TX), in addition to major renovations to its showroom in West Hollywood (CA) and now in New York.
