SHA Mexico Resort: a new icon of health and wellness in the Caribbean
The elegance of Porcelanosa Grupo’s materials enhances the peaceful and exclusive atmosphere that surrounds the SHA Mexico resort.
Inaugurated earlier this year, the building designed by the renowned architectural firm Sordo Madaleno and with interior design by Alejandro Escudero, is located in the heart of the Mexican Caribbean. Surrounded by paradisiacal views and endless beaches, SHA Mexico surprises with its organic and contemporary design. This aesthetic line is present in each of the rooms.
This oasis, located in a privileged area of the Riviera Maya, has 100 suites and 35 superior suites. The facilities include medical consultation, gym, yoga and meditation spaces, spa and hydrotherapy circuit. The extensive range of treatments makes this Mexican health center a world cathedral of wellness.
Based on principles of sustainability, the SHA Mexico resort uses natural materials or materials with recycled content. In addition, renewable energies are used for its day-to-day operations.
In the XV edition of the Porcelanosa Awards, SHA Mexico received the award for ‘Best Hotel Project’. The majestic coordination between architecture and interior design made it worthy of the award.
Unique architecture and organic design
Mexican architecture firm Sordo Madaleno has created a design inspired by the human genome (DNA). The iconic structure of the interiors is perfectly complemented by the natural and organic design of the environments. In this way, the rooms of the SHA Mexico resort reflect a modern and warm vision of the country.
The avant-garde and timeless aesthetics of the spaces can be sensed in the neutral tones of the materials used. The River Silver (PORCELANOSA) stone effect ceramic model has been placed in multiple rooms, achieving a sober and solid image.
River Silver is used as interior and exterior flooring in the rooms, achieving a continuity that visually expands the spaces. This model is also located on the floor of the corridor of the rooms and the cafeteria area. In this way, it is in total harmony with the beige and oak wood furniture.
In the bathrooms of the bedrooms, the Dolomiti marble effect model (PORCELANOSA) has been used as shower cladding, giving sophistication to the atmosphere. River Silver flooring completes the room. Los materiales de Butech enhance the aesthetics of this area. In addition, sanitary elements have been installed: the New Lounge bathtub, bidet and Acro Compact toilet (Noken).
The outdoor area of the rooms and the terrace in the center, with its spectacular views of the white sandy beaches, takes on special relevance. In the outdoor areas of the suites, the original large bathtub, Soleil Square, by Noken, has been installed.
A tropical setting for SHA Mexico resort
The unique and sinuous architecture of the building, and the interior design, with native fabrics and natural materials, achieve an integration of the tropical environment, accentuating the sensation of floating above the Caribbean Sea. Perfecting the essence of the complex, landscaping has been designed to respect local species.
In addition, from the SHA Mexico resort, guests can contemplate the sea and the jungle. A natural spectacle for the five senses. In short, an immersive experience of calm, health, nature and well-being.
